To eat like a Thai is to eat on the street. Chawadee “Chow” Nualkhair, author of Bangkok’s Top 50 Street Food Stalls, happily braves half-hour dinner lines at Bamee Slow (right; Ekkamai Soi 19) for the bamee moo daeng, noodles with barbecued pork, soft-boiled egg, and Chinese kale in a broth that’s “almost toxic orange in color.” Other nights, she opts for the stalls on Sukhumvit Soi 38: “There’s a huge profusion of vendors there. You have to be pretty good or they kick you out.”
