Start the day on horseback at Spicelands Equestrian Center, a Warwick stable with noble steeds for all levels. The guided, one-hour Breakfast Ride ($210) starts on the Railway Trail, an 18-mile, inland route on a former mid-century train line. Pass working farms and fields of fennel before reaching south shore beaches like Warwick Long Bay and Jobson’s Cove, where you can splash into the surf at sunrise. Return to the stables and snack on local fruit, pastries, and hot coffee (included).
Stop to smell the roses, oleander, and indigenous botanicals at Bermuda Perfumery, an 85-year-old institution in tony St. George’s. On the second floor of the whitewashed Stewart Hall building, master perfumer Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone leads intimate perfume-making classes ($275, four hours; register in advance) for up to five participants on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sniff olfactory samples like loquat, seagrass, and Bermuda cedar, and then blend and bottle your own custom fragrance in a 50-milliliter sample.
Get cultured at Masterworks, a 1,200-piece fine arts collection within the Bermuda Botanic Gardens. Schedule a private tour ($5) with curator Tom Butterfield, and be sure to ask about the permanent collection in storage below, which includes little-seen, sheathed works by Winslow Homer, Henry Moore, and early Georgia O’Keefe.
