You'll avoid the tourist fray inside the grottoes of Tom Moore's Jungle.

Bypass the tourists at Crystal Caves and head instead to Tom Moore’s Jungle, a 12-acre, privately owned nature reserve (free) in Blue Hole Park. Take Walsingham Lane off of Harrington Sound Road, and follow a dirt path to the left of the entrance to Tom Moore’s Tavern, a popular pub rumored to be Bermuda’s oldest eatery. Trek winding, tree-lined paths through heavy brush and turquoise grottoes, keeping Castle Harbour to your right. Bring a flashlight or headlamp if the day is overcast, and wear a swimsuit regardless: Some of the grottoes are filled with fresh seawater up to 60 feet deep. Go it alone, or book a guide with Hidden Gems, a local ecotour operator (one-day summer excursions from $175).
