October Prime Day is here. To find the best deals in every category, follow all of our Prime Day coverage.
There are a few criteria that make a Prime Day deal an actually good deal: The product is discounted by 25 percent or more, it’s rarely on sale, and it’s the lowest price it’s ever been. Given the seemingly endless scroll of deals to browse through each Prime Day, that last criterion is ultimately what makes me click “add to cart” when I’m deal hunting. That’s why I’ve rounded up all of the best deals on items that are at their lowest price ever for Prime Day, including some Strategist-favorite products (and a few of my own).
Here’s the fine print: Amazon’s 48-hour sale began yesterday and runs through tonight, October 9. The deals will end at 11:59 p.m. PT (2:59 a.m. ET on Thursday, October 10), so this is truly your last chance to take advantage of these discounts. To browse more of the best deals we’ve found across the sale, head to our hub of the best October Prime Day deals, and sign up for our Strategist Sales Alert newsletter to stay up to date with the latest.
The Deals I Personally Think Are the Best
All of the deals in this article are worth taking advantage of, but if I had to pick the three best deals, I’d go with the Ember smart mug, which has a built-in heater that keeps your coffee or tea hot all day — I haven’t seen the 14-ounce version at a lower price; this Ursa Major exfoliating bar soap made with eucalyptus and mint (which is the only product I have on subscription); and the Netvue Birdfy smart bird feeder, which is the best gift I bought last year.
Other excellent all-time low deals
This is the best deal I’ve found on hiking boots all year. Whenever someone asks me for a hiking-boot recommendation, nine times out of ten I point them to the Merrell Moab, which is our top less-expensive pick for both women and men.
These are the gold standard for noise-canceling over-ear headphones.
The Garmin Forerunner is the only running watch you need.
This is my go-to pair of noise-canceling headphones. At $60, they’re already a steal, but it’s tough to beat $40.
This Strategist-favorite tool was only 14 percent off yesterday, but today it’s half off.
A Bluetooth speaker with surprisingly deep bass for its small size.
Strategist tech writer Jordan McMahon says these sleek over-ear headphones are the best option for Apple users: “The convenience of pairing them with all your Apple gear can’t be beat.”
This is my top recommendation for a protein powder, and it’s rarely on sale.
I’m stocking up on my favorite electrolyte powder, which has never been this cheap. (The grape flavor is the best.)
I use a similar version of this Nutribullet to make my daily protein shake. For less than $100, this is a solid deal.
Our favorite multifunctional toaster oven is $100 off and the cheapest we’ve seen it on Amazon.
This is one of those kitchen gadgets I always wished I’d had. Now it’s in my cart.
It’s our best less-expensive cutting board recommendation, and it’s over half off.
Strategist writer Erin Schwartz rounded up the best Prime Day vacuum deals and noted that these cordless Dyson models rarely go on sale. And now they are. (The cheapest we’ve seen these models was $350 for the V8 Plus back in August, and $650 for the V15 Detect Plus in May.)
A whole set of houseplants to get your collection started or round it out (and for under $20!).
Our best overall mattress protector for 66 percent off.
If you’ve been waiting to buy an iPad, this is the best deal you’ll likely find for a while.
This versatile pot got the stamp of approval from two cooks with different approaches to cooking.
I use this stainless-steel shaker bottle to keep my protein shakes frosty throughout the day. (Think of it as an upgrade to your average blender bottle.)
There’s a lot of Yeti on sale, including the 46-ounce Rambler, which will replace all of the other stainless-steel bottles in your cabinet …
Our travel writer’s favorite toiletry containers are usually pricey, so now is a great time to buy a set.
This Lumie is the best less expensive pick in my guide to sunrise alarm clocks, and after just a few nights of using it, it noticeably changed my sleep routine for the better.
This is more of a sleep station than an alarm clock, and now is the best time to buy it on sale.
The simplest, least expensive smart speaker at its lowest price ever.
