The first day of Senate debates on the Democrats’s $848 billion health care bill provided a nice snapshot of what the rest of the debate is going to look like: sniping, complaining, eye-rolling and stalling. Harry Reid, who was accused of a “stunt” early in the session for making unexpected requests of Republicans, said he was “disappointed” in how the debate started. Then, by the end of the day, nothing was accomplished. Way to go congress! [Politico]
