You know the drill: A holiday weekend means even more mattress sales than usual. So with Presidents’ Day approaching, I’ve gathered the best mattress deals I’ve found so far. Most brands are offering fairly standard discounts — in the range of 10 to 20 percent off, and often including extras like free pillows or sheets — but there are certainly some notable ones to take advantage of if you’re currently in the market for a new mattress. Sometimes brands sweeten the deal as we get closer to a holiday, so keep checking back as Presidents’ Day gets closer; I’ll be keeping this post updated through the long weekend.
Amerisleep
Amerisleep sells three fairly standard mattresses, but what sets them apart is the company’s Bio-Pur foam, a memory-foam alternative made from plant-based materials and fewer petrochemicals than true polyurethane foam. The brand says Bio-Pur foam is also bouncier and more breathable than traditional memory foam. Right now, it is offering $500 off any mattress with the code PD500, as well as 30 percent off adjustable bed bundles (and Amerisleep just so happens to make our favorite adjustable bed base).
Avocado
Avocado — maker of a variety of organic mattresses — is offering up to 20 percent off sitewide. The biggest discount is 20 percent off the brand’s Luxury Organic mattress (its fanciest and most expensive option), but you can also get 15 percent off the Avocado Green and 10 percent off the Avocado Eco Organic. In general, Avocado mattresses are a bit more expensive than average because of the natural materials used to make them — Avocado typically uses latex foam (instead of polyfoams) as well as cotton or wool finishings.
Awara
Like Avocado, Awara makes its mattresses with natural materials. It doesn’t have quite as many models as Avocado, but all three of Awara’s beds are good, affordable latex-hybrid options. For Presidents’ Day, the brand is offering up to 50 percent off mattresses.
Bear
Bear is taking 35 percent off sitewide and offering two free pillows with every mattress purchase. The brand’s mattresses range from the ultrabasic Bear Original to the luxe Bear Elite Hybrid, but all include the option to add a cover made from Celliant performance fabric, which is intended to promote muscle recovery.
Beautyrest
This legacy mattress brand is offering discounts across the Beautyrest Black and Harmony mattress models. The biggest deals are on mattress and adjustable base bundles, with discounts up to $900 off when you buy both products, depending which line and size you choose.
Bedgear
Bedgear sells a few different mattresses, including a modular one that you can customize to your preferences by swapping out comfort layers. You can also customize each side of the bed to have a different firmness level — ideal for those who have a partner with opposite preferences. For Presidents’ Day, Bedgear is taking up to $300 off its Performance mattresses.
Birch
Birch’s “early access” Presidents’ Day sale will get you 20 percent off sitewide, plus two free pillows included with every mattress purchase. Birch makes two adult mattresses, the Birch Natural and a Luxe version, as well as a child’s mattress. Strategist senior writer Liza Corsillo has been sleeping on the Birch Natural for a couple years now and reports it has a solidly medium-firm feel, which works well for both her (a back-to-side combination sleeper) and her stomach-sleeper husband.
Brentwood Home
Brentwood Home manufactures the majority of its products in California with a bent toward natural materials and eco-friendly processes. The biggest discount it’s offering is 35 percent off the Cypress line, which includes both all-foam and hybrid mattresses. Otherwise, it’s 10 percent off other mattresses across the board.
Brooklyn Bedding
This Arizona-based mattress-maker is taking 30 percent off sitewide with the code PRESDAY30. In addition to nice hybrid beds like the Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and the Signature Hybrid, Brooklyn Bedding also makes the ultrafirm Plank, which is one of our favorite firm mattresses, and the Titan Plus, which offers additional support for heavier folks.
Casper
Casper is offering up to 30 percent off mattresses, which is a typical sale for the brand but still a good deal. Strategist contributor Kiki Aranita is a huge fan of the Casper One (the model that launched last year to replace the Casper Original) and says it has an ideal middle-of-the-road firmness.
Cloverlane
Cloverlane is a newer mattress brand from Resident, the parent company of DreamCloud and Nectar, that offers a more luxury-focused selection of mattresses. At Cloverlane, you’ll find hybrid and all-foam mattresses in medium, firm, and extra-firm firmnesses, all priced the same and discounted for Presidents’ Day, though some sizes and firmness options are currently out of stock.
DreamCloud
DreamCloud makes three mattresses — the Original, the Premier, and the Premier Rest — which are all available as either an all-foam or hybrid model (the difference is in the height and number of layers). For Presidents’ Day, DreamCloud is offering discounts up to 60 percent off mattresses and 66 percent off mattress-and-adjustable-base bundles.
Eco Terra
If you’re shopping for a latex mattress, Eco Terra sells two latex-hybrid mattresses and one all-latex-foam mattress, all of which are $500 off for Presidents’ Day.
Helix
Helix is currently taking 20 percent off sitewide and including two free pillows with every mattress purchase. The brand’s mattresses are sorted into three lines — Core, Luxe, and Elite — which each contain six mattresses ranging from ultrasoft to ultrafirm. The Core mattresses are the cheapest and most minimal; the Elite are the most expensive and extravagant (seriously, they are some of the most luxurious mattresses I’ve seen, with multiple hefty layers of foam and coils).
Ikea
The Swedish retailer’s already budget-friendly mattresses are discounted by 15 percent for Presidents’ Day. The sale is for Ikea Family members only, but the program is free to join and basically just entails making an account on Ikea’s website. (Discounts are applied automatically once you’ve added products to your cart.)
Latex for Less
This purveyor of all things latex is offering up to $700 off mattresses, as well as up to 40 percent off latex toppers. The company has two all-latex-foam mattresses, one of which is double-sided, plus a hybrid option.
Layla
Layla is offering up to $200 off mattresses for Presidents’ Day and giving you two free pillows with every purchase. Both of the brand’s mattresses are twofers because they are flippable with a soft and a firm side. Strategist writer Tembe Denton-Hurst has been sleeping on the Layla Hybrid for about three years and says that both sides are supportive, but she appreciates the option to flip the mattress because she ultimately prefers the softer side.
Leesa
Leesa’s early Presidents’ Day sale includes 25 percent off select mattresses, plus two free pillows with every mattress purchase. Leesa sells a wide selection of mattresses, including our favorite all-foam mattress, the Leesa Original.
Nectar
The Nectar Original is one of the most popular memory-foam mattresses on the market — it’s currently our top pick for memory foam. For Presidents’ Day, the brand is offering around 50 percent off mattresses and up to 66 percent off mattress-and-adjustable-base bundles.
Nest Bedding
Nest makes a variety of mattresses, including two kids’ mattresses (both of which we’ve tested). Something unique that Nest offers is internal split king and California king mattresses, which allows couples to customize the firmness of each side of the mattress. But unlike traditional split kings — which are basically two twin XL mattresses pushed together — it’s all within the same mattress. For Presidents’ Day, Nest is taking 50 percent off its Raven mattress as well as $400 off the Sparrow, Owl, Starling, and Finch mattresses. The Quail and Lark are $200 off, while the kids’ Puffin is $100 off. All mattresses will come with a free sleep bundle of two pillows and a mattress protector.
Nolah
Nolah sells a variety of hybrid mattresses, all-foam mattresses, and even a natural latex-hybrid option. Leading up to Presidents’ Day, Nolah is offering 35 percent off sitewide and including two free pillows with each mattress purchase. You’ll also have the option to bundle a BedJet cooling system with your purchase, discounted $150 off the usual price.
PlushBeds
The maker of our favorite latex mattress, PlushBeds, is taking up to 50 percent off all mattresses and throwing in a free bedding bundle with every mattress purchase, so you’ll also get two pillows, a sheet set, and a mattress protector.
Purple
Purple — the brand known for its squishy, flexible grid layer — has several mattresses on sale for Presidents’ Day. Their biggest discounts will get you up to $900 off a mattress-and-adjustable-base bundle. But if you only want a mattress, the brand is taking $200 off the Purple Original, up to $400 off the Restore Hybrid collection, and up to $600 off the Rejuvenate Luxe collection.
Saatva
Saatva makes our favorite mattress overall, the Saatva Classic, which I recently spent four months sleeping on to verify its excellence. The brand is offering $400 off orders of $1,000 or more, which is pretty much any mattress purchase. That brings our top pick down to $1,699 — not too shabby.
Sealy
Sealy’s current sale follows its typical holiday sales offerings: Save $450 on the Posturepedic Hybrid with the code PPHYBRID or get 25 percent off the Posturepedic Spring mattress with the code PPSPRING. Additionally, the budget-friendly Cocoon by Sealy mattress is 35 percent off, and each purchase comes with a free bundle of pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector.
Siena
Already a budget-friendly brand, Siena is offering a discount of up to 60 percent off its Siena Memory Foam, Essential Memory Foam, and Premier Hybrid mattresses. That last one is the most expensive, but it’s still just under $500 on sale.
Stearns & Foster
Take $200 off Stearns & Foster’s Studio and Estate models, $400 off the Lux Estate and Lux Hybrid, and $600 off the Reserve. I’ve tested a Lux Estate model and can confirm it is quite luxe — like what you’d expect to sleep on in a high-end hotel.
Tempur-Pedic
I’m a big fan of Tempur-Pedic’s mattresses — they offer the classic “hugging” feel of memory foam in a way many other beds can’t compete with. But they are expensive, so sales are always welcome. For Presidents’ Day, you can take $100 off the Adapt and ProAdapt models, $200 off LuxeAdapt models, $300 off LuxeBreeze and ProBreeze models, and $500 off the ActiveBreeze models. You can also save 30 percent on Tempur-Pedic’s only bed-in-a-box mattress, the Tempur-Cloud.
Tuft & Needle
Tuft & Needle is taking 20 percent off sitewide for Presidents’ Day. The brand has a variety of bed-in-a-box options, including our favorite cooling mattress, the Tuft & Needle Mint.
Vaya
Vaya is a small brand that makes just two mattresses: one all-foam and one hybrid. You can get either one for $300 off with the code VAYA300.
Zinus
Zinus makes very budget-friendly mattresses, including two of our favorite inexpensive picks. For Presidents’ Day, Zinus is offering up to 60 percent off sitewide.
