Did You Know Muji Makes a Great Wool Sweater (That’s $56 Right Now)?

When Muji’s collection of refined basics, Muji Labo, launched last fall, the Strategist Slack channel was abuzz. The brand’s plan — to bring luxury materials to dressier silhouettes — sounded promising, especially at prices that would barely be more expensive than regular Muji. Since the launch, I have been wearing this cozy funnel-neck sweater at least once a week. It’s made of yak wool, which is known for being warm and soft like cashmere but less prone to shrinkage, and, like a Babaa sweater, it is oversize and effortless. It’s my new go-to for a pulled-together look thanks to its nice drape, soft wool, and spot-on colors. (I got it in a rich shade of chocolate brown that makes my skin glow.)

Lately, I’ve been testing the sweater’s performance limits by wearing it to play in the snow with my son, to see how well it breathes, and I’m happy to report that I stay very warm but never break a sweat. Right now, you can get it in brown, butter yellow, or charcoal gray (though sizing is limited in the gray) for just $56 — nearly half off the full price.

The Strategist is designed to surface useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Every product is independently selected by our team of editors, whom you can read about here. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
