Quirky performance artist and activist Reverend Billy is apparently running for mayor as the candidate of the Green Party, and his campaign co-chairwoman claims it’s a completely legitimate and sincere endeavor. Of course, he doesn’t really look like someone you want in charge during a devastatingly serious financial crisis. But actually, his platform of not buying things you don’t need which he elucidates here in an anti-consumerist, possibly traumatizing Christmas carol may be more appropriate and appealing now than ever before.
