The latest entry in a predictably amusing back-and-forth between Jon Stewart and Fox News, Stewart brought in a gospel choir for tonight’s Daily Show to provide the backing vocals for his diatribe against the network. After Stewart initially went after Fox News’ Bernie Goldberg at the end of last week for making generalizations about liberals, Goldberg responded last night in an appearance on The O’Reilly Factor that Stewart doesn’t critique liberals in the same way he goes after conservatives: “You are not nearly as edgy as you think you are,” he told Stewart over the airwaves, “You are just a safe Jay Leno with a much smaller audience.”
Tonight, Stewart offered his rebuttal in which he picked apart Goldberg’s attack and called Fox “the lupus of news,” building to an expletive-filled outburst and exuberant dance (you just have to see it).
