A mother’s apparent suicide in Harlem Wednesday was less tragic than it could have been, as the infant she cradled in her arms when she jumped from her eighth-floor window survived. A witness told DNAinfo that “the child bounced onto the sidewalk on impact and immediately started wailing” after the fall. The mother died at the scene, but the baby was taken to Harlem Hospital in critical but stable condition.
