F Train Express Service Possibly Crawling Back

Since the F line’s express trains stopped working in 1987, the prospect of bringing them back gets dangled every so often in front of frustrated Brooklyn commuters. That happened once again on Tuesday, when Aaron Stern, a City Transit Office budget director, told a City Council meeting the MTA would be reviewing a return of the service, Gothamist reports. But the agency has already noted that it only has so many trains, and the most-used stations are local stops. So while a return of F express service would be just great, it’s hardly on a fast track.
