GOP sugar daddy Sheldon Adelson — the billionaire casino magnate who donated as much as $150 million to Republican candidates and PACs during the 2012 campaign season — suggested yesterday that instead of pursuing what appear to be the most promising diplomatic talks with Iran since 1979, we should just drop a nuke in the Iranian desert.
“You pick up your cell phone,” Adelson said, describing his foolproof plan to an audience of Yeshiva University students, “and you call somewhere in Nebraska and you say, ‘OK let it go.’ So there’s an atomic weapon, goes over, ballistic missiles, the middle of the desert, that doesn’t hurt a soul. Maybe a couple of rattlesnakes, and scorpions, or whatever. And then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran.’”
Only after having their territory nuked for no particular reason will Iran be convinced to leave nuclear weapons to the world’s more responsible countries.
