Crashing a car can be pretty traumatic, so in a way it’s understandable that the driver and a passenger in a suspected drunken collision in Inwood made a beeline for a café and ordered a beer after surviving the wreck. But according to DNAinfo, they did not seem terribly upset. “That’s a beautiful wreck,” one of the passengers reportedly said after they hit a boulder at the entrance to Inwood Hill Park. Bartenders at the Indian Road Cafe* would only serve them water until police came.
*A previous version of this story mistakenly identified the restaurant as the Italian Road Cafe. That was incorrect.
