In the Memorial Day sales bonanza, mattress deals are always some of the best. Almost all of our favorite brands are slashing prices on mattresses and throwing in extra discounts on sheets, blankets, and pillows, too. Many of them also have some exclusive discounts for Strategist readers, so make sure to note if there’s a required code listed for the mattress you’ve got your eye on. Our advice: Do some research and check out our guide to mattresses, all of which have been tried and tested by the Strategist team. And to make comparison shopping even easier, we’re showing the price of queen-size mattresses for all options below.
Allswell
Allswell is a longtime Strategist favorite for its “supportive but soft” foam-coil hybrid mattress, and when you use the code MEM20, you can take 20 percent off their Luxe and Supreme mattresses, as well as bedding and bath items like robes, towels, throws, duvet sets, and decorative pillows. (We particularly like this terra-cotta geometric-patterned throw.)
Aviya
Aviya, a mattress that former Strategist writer Lori Keong called “plush yet delightfully bouncy,” is offering $200 off twin, twin-extra-long, full, and queen sizes with the code STRAT200. If you need something bigger, you can use the code STRAT250 to get $250 off king and California-king sizes.
Avocado
Avocado, which we’ve dubbed the best ecoconscious mattress because of its use of organic and recycled materials, is giving customers $200 off with code STRATAVO; $150 off when you buy a bed frame and mattress with code STRATBED; and two pillows free with mattress purchase with code STRATPILLOW. Plus, they’re offering an additional $50 off for verified nurses, doctors, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, law enforcement, military personnel, and educators.
Bear
Bear’s already-affordable mattress, which is ideal for athletes, just got even cheaper: With the code STRAT20, it’ll take 20 percent off the memory-foam Bear mattress — and throw in two free cloud pillows. If you prefer a hybrid mattress to memory foam, the Bear Hybrid is also 20 percent off using that very same code (you’ll get the two free pillows, too). Of the spring-and-foam Hybrid mattress, we’ve said, “If you want to fall asleep fast, it’s worth the price.”
Birch by Helix
Birch is offering $200 off any mattress, which are made using sustainably sourced materials including organic cotton and Rainforest Alliance–certified Talalay latex, with code STRAT200.
Casper
Right now, any mattress from Casper, arguably the originator of the mattress-in-a-box trend, is 15 percent off with the code MEMDAY15. While its Original foam mattress is not ideal for hot sleepers, former Strategist editor Margaret Rhodes says, “For everyone else, you can’t go wrong.” If you prefer a hybrid, the Casper Wave Hybrid has both contoured foam and dome-shaped gel pods to provide support for your back, neck, and shoulders (former Strategist writer Lori Keong called it “a souped-up, premium version of the original Casper”). We also like the Casper Element Mattress, the brand’s most basic offering that we’ve said makes a great choice for kids.
Cocoon by Sealy
Sealy’s mattress-in-a-box, which has cooling technology that’s ideal for the sweltering summer nights ahead, is 35 percent off, no code needed. The all-foam mattress comes in medium-soft or extra-firm, and former Strategist writer Simone Kitchens found that “the firm option was supportive enough to help alleviate some chronic back pain” she was experiencing.
Eight Sleep
The “smart” bed from Eight Sleep comes with sleep tracking via its phone app. And this Memorial Day, you can take $200 off the price of the mattress. If you’re looking for a total refresh, you can take $350 off their Sleep Essential Bundle, with purchase of the Pod, which includes a mattress protector, eucalyptus sheet set, and two foam pillows. Strategist readers also get 20 percent off all individual accessories using the code STRAT20.
Helix
Helix, which offers nine different hybrid mattress options, has a three-tiered deal this Memorial Day weekend exclusively for Strategist readers. Get $100 off any purchase with code STRAT100; get $150 off when you spend $1,250 or more with code STRAT150; or get $200 off when you spend $1,750 or more with code STRAT200. They’re also throwing in two free microfiber Dream pillows with any purchase using those codes.
Layla Sleep
Layla is offering $150 off any mattress purchase, and $200 off any hybrid mattress purchase, along with two free memory-foam pillows (a $150 value). The code STRATEGIST gives our readers an additional $10 off.
Leesa
Leesa is offering $100 off their new Studio by Leesa mattress, as well as $150 off the Leesa Original, $275 off the Leesa Hybrid, and $350 off the Leesa Legend. Strategist managing editor — and self-described stomach sleeper — Maxine Builder found that every night she slept on the original Leesa, she “fell into a deep sleep quickly and stayed there.”
Molecule
This Memorial Day, Molecule is taking 20 percent off everything on its site with the code STRAT20. Plus, it’s throwing in a free percale or sateen sheet set (a $219 value) with every mattress purchase. If you don’t know where to start, may we suggest the all-foam Molecule 1 Mattress, which has a cover that wicks heat and moisture to keep sleepers cool.
Nest Bedding
This Memorial Day, Nest Bedding is offering 25 percent off your entire cart with the purchase of a luxury mattress like this flippable memory-foam model (one side is firm; the other, medium) that, given its versatility, we think would work especially well in a guest or second bedroom.
Parachute
Parachute is offering customers 20 percent off sitewide, no code necessary. While you could just pick up a new set of linen sheets, we also suggest their foam-coil mattress. It’s designed to be firm in the middle for back support and softer at the head and feet for comfort.
Purple
No codes needed when you’re buying a Purple mattress this Memorial Day: Take $100 off the original mattress, $150 off a hybrid mattresses, or $200 off Hybrid Premier, all of which are discounted at checkout. “Avowed side-sleeper” and former Strategist deputy editor Jason Chen says that “Purple’s anomalous materials are well suited to those who sleep hot and hate foam.” To complete your new bedroom setup, the company is also offering $200 off a bedding bundle — which includes two latex Harmony pillows, bamboo sheets, and a mattress protector that originally costs $531 — with mattress purchase.
PlushBeds
PlushBeds’ Memorial Day sale offerings include $1,250 off (or basically half off) all of its latex mattresses, $600 off all of its memory-foam mattresses, $100 of all of its sofa-bed mattresses, and $100 off all of its mattress toppers. With the exclusive code STRAT20, Strategist readers can take an additional $100 off the purchase of any of those already on-sale mattresses or toppers. Those shopping for a latex mattress specifically can also opt to use the code MEMORIAL20 to get two organic latex pillows, a plush sheet set, and a mattress protector (which together cost $416) for free with purchase. Note that PlushBeds only allows the use of one code per purchase, so you can’t get $100 off and the bonus product bundle — just one or the other, depending on what you prefer.
Saatva
From now through May 25, take $200 off any purchase over $,1000 on Saatva’s organic and ecofriendly mattresses, no code necessary, our pick for those who prefer firm mattresses or those in need of extra back support.
Tempur-Pedic
Tempur-Pedic, known for its pressure-relieving memory foam, is offering $300 off some of its most popular mattresses, including the TEMPUR-Breeze and TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt, along with $100 off the TEMPUR-ProAdapt and TEMPUR-Adapt.
Tuft & Needle
Take 15 percent off Tuft & Needle’s Mint mattress, which has extra cooling technology when compared to the company’s original mattress (which is also 10 percent off). If you’re looking for a total spring refresh, there are also savings on jersey sheet sets, mattress frames, and even dog beds.
WinkBeds
All mattresses from the brand we like for achy backs are $300 off with the code STRAT300. Strategist senior editor Katy Schneider praised the quality construction: “From top to bottom, these have a thin layer of foam (for comfiness), air springs (to keep things cool), a support pad (to keep your lumbar area well-supported), and tempered steel coils (for pushback, and to keep the mattress from losing shape).”
Yogasleep
Yogasleep is offering 20 percent sitewide, which includes their foam Yogabed, which evenly disperses your body weight to reduct pressure points as you sleep. Bedding accessories and sound machines — including the Dohm, a favorite of Strategist editors, therapists, and acupuncturists alike — are also on sale.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
