It’s always nice to find deals on things my fellow Strategist writers have recently recommended, and this week was particularly fruitful. Some standouts: a handful of home décor from this month’s Strat Haul, a cherry-red sweater from writer Tembe Denton-Hurst’s “Strategist Brain,” and a Rare Beauty makeup set from this week’s Strategist Beauty Brief newsletter.
I found several other good sales this week, too. Ulta’s Wellness Week sale ends on Saturday, so don’t dillydally. Outerknown is also having a brief (but very good!) sale; it started yesterday and ends Sunday night. And Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter are both having a sale-on-sale: Clearance items are an extra 15 percent off, which is the best deal either retailer offers. After much digging, it looks like the clothing options, while quite good, have extremely limited size availability, so I mostly featured one-size-fits-all goods below, including a pretty stoneware jug and a colorful incense holder.
As always, make sure to sign up for The Strategist Sales Alert newsletter to receive each day’s best deals in your inbox. And if you want even more deals, sign up for our regular email newsletter, which includes deals just for newsletter subscribers.
If you haven’t set up your 2025 planner yet, don’t fret: This weekly version is undated.
Strategist columnist Rio Viera-Newton says Patchology’s foot mask left her skin “absurdly, silkily smooth, with no cracks or dry patches at all,” after about eight days of shedding.
This nice little set from Rare Beauty includes its eyeshadow stick in a shimmer brown shade and travel-size mascara.
Everything at Maya Fragrances is 25 percent off through February 15 with the code VDAY25. I really like the Base Perfume Oil, which has a subtle “you but better” scent.
If you missed all the deals I found on Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap last week, this week I found the brand’s dish soap for 30 percent off. Anna Kendrick likes lavender.
“Sometimes I’ll be feeling like a sack of spuds, and after drinking this, I have more energy,” says actress Paulina Alexis. “This helps with my digestion and keeps me feeling good and fresh all day.”
Poppi’s low-sugar sodas are 20 percent off when you apply the on-site coupon. This variety pack has all my favorite flavors, particularly the cherry limeade.
The boxy Gap sweater that writer Tembe Denton-Hurst has her eye on is over half off.
These jumpsuits are “comfortable with breathable fabric that’s not stiff like that of other utility jumpsuits,” says former writer Chloe Anello. She notes that these are a good option if you’re tall; Anello is five-foot-nine and says that “the pants actually reach my ankles, which is rare.”
Patagonia just added a flurry of snow gear to its Winter Sale. Former Strategist editor Maxine Builder owns a puffer similar to this Down Sweater Jacket. “I sort of look like the Michelin Man when I put it on, maybe because it’s the men’s version. (If you want a slim fit, there’s a women’s version, too.) But man, it’s warm,” she says. “It’s also super lightweight because it’s down, so I never really overheat while wearing it.”
And to keep your extremities toasty, I found our best fleece winter gloves on sale. Carrie Brownstein introduced us to the pair: “I needed a pair of gloves that were lightweight and that weren’t necessarily fashion gloves for going out,” she explains. “They’re pretty versatile in terms of what I can wear them with. They’re very soft, and I can still use my fingers.”
All glasses are buy one, get one free at Crap Eyewear this weekend. AnnaSophia Robb likes this olive pair, which she says are very durable. “I just drop them in my tote and am not precious with them, and they’re doing great,” she says.
Here’s a nice gift that works as either a birthday or Valentine’s Day gift. (If you’re going for the latter, all the other months are on sale, too.)
I don’t often feature products that are only on sale in one color, but this is a great pair of shoes — our favorite running shoes for beginners) in a pretty palatable colorway. Don’t worry, they’re on sale in men’s sizing, too.
Several pairs of Nike’s retro-inspired sneakers are nearly 40 percent off. I particularly like these Blazers.
The women’s version isn’t on sale at Nike, unfortunately, but I found this beige-and-brown pair for $46 at Net-a-Porter.
I also spotted the tween-approved Dunk Lows for up to 35 percent off.
Can’t forget the (even littler) kids! Here are some cutie Velcro sneakers that come in sizes 4M through 13M.
Lots of Vagabond boots are up to 50 percent off. These remind me of the pair I recommended for our best Chelsea boots roundup, just with pretty hardware.
These calf-height moto boots come in three colors, but this light brown is the chicest, IMO.
Paravel’s fold-up fanny pack can be used for carrying the essentials — but we also heard it’s roomy enough to replace a proper diaper bag. It’s 30 percent off when you buy it in olive green.
A simple laptop tote from one of our favorite bag brands is 23 percent off.
One of the best Apple deals we spotted this week: The latest iPad mini is $100 off. It’s rare to see the most recent Apple models on sale, so this is actually a good deal.
If you’ve already got an iPad, protect it with this handsome case. It features a foldable stand and is made from recycled materials.
A portable Bluetooth speaker that’s loud enough to hear over the vacuum.
If your apartment radiator isn’t cutting it during these colder months, here’s an oscillating tower from Lasko, the maker of some of our favorite space heaters.
The only cashmere that I’ve been able to find on sale lately.
Rainbow bath linens are my favorite kind of bath linens — especially when they’re under $11 apiece. This 100-percent-cotton set comes with two bath towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths.
I very much want this organic-cotton bath mat but can’t decide between olive (pictured here) or rust.
In this month’s Strategist Haul, Ro recommends this woven laundry hamper, which she says looks great in her bathroom. Her kids also get a kick out of the two compartments.
Senior editor Hilary Reid’s best buy of the month was these corded napkin rings. “I love that they’re a little softer-feeling than a standard metal or wood napkin ring and that you kind of lasso them around your napkin to fasten them,” she writes.
Would buy this for the handle alone.
My mom has owned a version of these glazed stoneware bowls for years — they are perfect for yogurt, cereal, or soup and are now just $5 apiece.
Here’s a marbled incense holder that would pair nicely with our favorite nice-looking plastic cutting board.
Good Valentine’s Day gift for the on-trend climber (me). Comes with a handy carabiner clip that they can attach to their belt loops for ascents.
