The Week Before the U.S. Open

Rafael Nadal and Caroline Wozniacki have the number one seeds going into U.S. Open, which begins on Monday, but that’s not the only thing on the sporting horizon. Among the other things we previewed this week: the WNBA playoffs (only six more wins, Liberty fans!), the FIBA World Championship, and three-eights of the divisions in the NFL. But what happened this week that involved things that, you know, already happened?

The Yankees dropped two of three in Toronto.

The Mets continued their chase of third place.

Darrelle Revis didn’t sign a new contract.

Ilya Kovalchuk didn’t sign a new contract, either (though it may happen soon).

Hard Knocks introduced us to the phrase “triple fucking Asian flu.”

We wondered the Yankees couldn’t find a better Luis Sojo autographed baseball.

And we visited Yogi Berra Stadium, home of the New Jersey Jackals.

That’s it for us. Have a nice weekend.
